About Us

Gary Tong is the Founder and Lead Trainer of Cruxial Consulting, with a background spanning psychology, youth development, training and coaching. His journey as a facilitator began at just 16 years old, before he progressed into professional training at 20 and coaching at 21.

Over the course of his training career, Gary has worked with more than 10,000 students and parents across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand, facilitating programmes focused on personal development, confidence, resilience, communication and helping young people realise their potential.

Gary holds a Bachelor of Science with a double major in Psychology from the University of Western Australia. His particular interests lie in Developmental and Cognitive Psychology — understanding how people think, learn and develop, and how these processes shape behaviour and personal growth. This interest was one of the key reasons he pursued formal studies in psychology.

Complementing his academic background, Gary is a Certified Neuro-Semantics NLP Practitioner and a Certified Mental Toughness Coach & Facilitator. He integrates principles from psychology, mental toughness, experiential learning and coaching into his programmes, with an emphasis on helping young people translate what they learn into practical changes in their everyday lives.

Beyond training and coaching, Gary has also built a career in Market Research and Research Operations, contributing to large-scale projects for organisations including the Singapore Tourism Board, Sentosa Development Corporation and Changi Airport Group. This experience has strengthened his evidence-oriented approach to understanding people — combining the human side of psychology and coaching with insights drawn from research and real-world behaviour.

At the heart of Gary's work is a belief that education should go beyond academic achievement. His work focuses on equipping young people with the confidence, resilience, self-awareness and life skills they need to navigate challenges, make better choices and grow into capable young adults.
